Cardin (D-MD), Chairman of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (U.S. Helsinki Commission) will speak Wednesday at 10 a.m. at a conference at the Library of Congress marking the 70th anniversary of the Soviet murder of over 20,000 Polish soldiers and intellectual elites in the Katyn forest. “The 70th Anniversary Observance of The Katyn Massacre” Wednesday, May 5, 2010 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. 10:00 a.m. – Senator Cardin to speak Library of Congress Coolidge Auditorium, Thomas Jefferson Building This commemoration comes three weeks after the tragic loss of Polish President Lech Kaczynski and dozens of top Polish officials en route to a memorial at the site of the massacre.
