Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe


An independant agency of the United States Government charged with monitoring and encouraging compliance with the Helsinki Final Act and other commitments of the 55 countries participating in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
SHELLY H. HAN - Ms. Han joined the Commission in 2006 and is the Policy Advisor for Economic and Environmental Issues, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Mongolia, and OSCE Asian Partners for Cooperation (Australia, Japan, Korea, Thailand). Previously she was a policy advisor and acting Chief of Staff at Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the Department of Homeland Security. She also worked at the Department of Commerce on international security policy related to the export of sensitive goods and technology. Ms. Han has extensive experience in the private sector in international trade, working for over 15 years in trade policy and promotion with a focus on the Asia Pacific region. She has an M.A. in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University and a B.A. in Political Science and Oriental Studies from the University of Arizona. Ms. Han is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
